Crew asked—so we built it!
At iShine, everything starts with one simple question: How can we make life easier for yacht crew?
Because let’s be real: crew work hard, and their responsibility matters. The reality is that maintaining a yacht to the highest standard is no easy task. Crew work tirelessly to keep every surface looking immaculate, often battling salt, water spots, airborne contamination, and the endless cycle of cleaning that comes with life at sea, at anchor, at port and everything in between.
A yacht’s appearance is a direct reflection of the crew’s dedication and professionalism. That’s why understanding the right maintenance practices, using the correct products, and avoiding those that can cause damage is so important.
For more than 15 years, we’ve worked closely with captains and deck teams around the world. We spend a lot of time listening, asking questions, and understanding the day-to-day challenges they face. In many cases, our best product ideas don’t come from a laboratory—they come from conversations on deck.
One topic that kept coming up was protection.
As many of you know, iShine offers a complete range of products designed to clean, restore, protect, and maintain yacht surfaces. From paint restoration and polishing systems to glass treatments, stainless steel maintenance, polymer sealants, and ceramic coatings. Our goal has always been to help yachts stay looking their best for longer.
But there was one question we heard repeatedly: “How can we keep surfaces water-repellent for as long as possible between maintenance treatments?”
And that question led to the development of our newest product: iShine (+) iOns Boat Soap. Or, as one crew member recently nicknamed it: “The Magic Sauce.”
Now, while we can’t officially put that on the label, we have to admit it’s a pretty fitting description.

Unlike traditional boat soaps that simply clean the surface, iShine (+) iOns Boat Soap has been specifically formulated to both clean and help maintain the protective properties of treated surfaces.
Technically speaking, it is a water-repellent boat soap designed for maintenance cleaning of nautical surfaces. It effectively removes dirt, salt deposits, and other contaminants while depositing a cationic film during the rinsing process.
What does that mean in practical terms?
As you rinse the yacht, the soap leaves behind an invisible water-repellent barrier. This barrier helps water sheet away more effectively, reduces the adhesion of new dirt, and assists in maintaining the hydrophobic performance of polymer sealants and ceramic coatings.
In other words:
- Surfaces stay cleaner for longer.
- Dirt finds it harder to stick.
- Water drains away more effectively.
- Existing protection is supported rather than stripped away.
- Crew spend less time fighting the same contamination day after day.
And that’s exactly why we created it.

Anyone who has spent time washing a yacht knows that cleaning isn’t just about removing today’s dirt—it’s about delaying tomorrow’s.
Every extra day that a surface remains cleaner, every reduction in water spotting, and every improvement in rinsing performance contributes to easier maintenance and better long-term results.
Of course, no soap can completely eliminate the effects of salt, UV exposure, or environmental contamination. If it could, we’d probably be retired on a beach somewhere by now.
But what it can do is help support your maintenance program and maximise the performance of the protective systems you’ve already invested in.
At iShine, product development has always been driven by real-world feedback from crew. The iShine (+) iOns Boat Soap is another example of that philosophy in action: identify a challenge, listen to the people facing it every day, and develop a practical solution.
Because when yacht maintenance becomes easier, everyone benefits.
And if that means spending a little less time washing and a little more time enjoying the aspects of yacht life then we’re all for it.
